After three weeks of being closed due to 'The Didsbury Hole' Barlow Moor Road is finally open. Manchester City Council have put in some serious work recently to dig the hole back out, fill it will hug concrete pipes, fill it back in and cover it with lovely fresh tarmac and double yellow lines.
The Manchester Evening news have printed a more than dubious article with photo about a road collapse in the same location in 1914. You can take the story with a large pinch of salt. Barlow Moor Road maybe, but certainly not in the same place.
The road was still quiet this morning as many commuters have yet to realise that the road is now open again. Let's hope this is the last we hear about 'The Didsbury Hole'.
