Attention budding Masterchefs, young and old – here’s your chance to feature in an exciting new Didsbury recipe book! Spring 2011 will mark the launch of Didsbury Dinners: The Low-Carbon Community Cookbook. It is a new Action for Sustainable Living (AfSL) project that aims to improve food sustainability in South Manchester.
The book will showcase recipes from real Didsbury people, made from locally-sourced ingredients, and will be on sale in Didsbury and surrounds. The Didsbury Dinners pdf provides further information, and give some of the results from our pilot study on local food sustainability. All Didsbury residents are invited to take an online version of the food sustainability survey. Doing so will give us a more accurate idea of Didsbury's current food carbon footprint (see survey 1 at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/GGG8F9X) and of people's barriers to eating sustainably (see survey 2 at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/GGHG3L2). Please do make your voice heard by taking the survey, for example, by telling us what would you like to see in our local shops.
