These incredible photographs of Didsbury were taken by Manchester based photographer Anthony Howells in August 2010.
"The technique I have used for the pictures is called High Dynamic Range or HDR photography it is a set of techniques that allow a greater dynamic range of luminances between the lightest and darkest areas of an image than standard digital imaging techniques or photographic methods.
This wider dynamic range allows HDR images to more accurately represent the wide range of intensity levels found in real scenes, ranging from direct sunlight to faint starlight."
Some of the photographs look more normal than others. The longer you spend taking each in, the more apparent it is that colours and changes in light are not quite what you would expect.
Anthony is more than happy for you to contact him if you have any questions about the images below or would like to enquire about commissions.
