Fancy a night out at the theatre but don't want to travel to town?
Then come and see Fencing for Losers by Rob Johnston, the next production by IgnitionStage, your local professional theatre company. Their last collaboration, the highly successful The Opposite of Claustrophobic, had four sold-out performances in Didsbury and this production, which is also showing at the Buxton Festival Fringe in May, is set to attract many Didsburyites.
Hard-to-impress Mancunian Danny attempts to escape a life that is going nowhere by signing up for fencing classes. Full of bravado, he wants it all. His teacher Susan is in a rut also, and together they achieve the unexpected.
The venue is Didsbury Studio Theatre ( MMU campus Wilmslow Road - opposite The Didsbury pub ) on 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th May at 7.30pm. Tickets are £8 and on sale in advance at The Art of Tea (47 Barlow Moor Road) or on the door before the performance.
