Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery at a restaurant in Didsbury.
The incident happened shortly after 10.30am on Monday 8 August 2011 at Greens Restaurant on Burton Road.
Two men walked into the restaurant and threatened staff with a knife, while making demands for cash.
However, the pair fled empty-handed and are believed to have run off down Clyde Road.
No-one was injured during the robbery.
The first man is described as white, around 5ft 5in tall and of slim build. He is believed to be in his twenties, had a large pointy nose and spoke with a Mancunian accent. He was wearing a hat or hood and a dark green jacket.
The second man is of unknown ethnicity and is believed to be around 5ft 8in to 5ft 9in tall and of a broader build than the first offender.
Detective Constable Craig Barry from Didsbury CID said: “If anyone was in the Burton Road area this morning and saw these two men either entering the restaurant or making off from the crime afterwards, please get in touch with us.
“These men used a weapon to threaten staff and although they didn’t make off with anything, staff were understandably left extremely shaken.
“We are determined to find out who is responsible and take these dangerous men off the streets, so please contact us if you have any information that may assist with our investigation.”
Anyone with information is asked to call police at West Didsbury CID on 0161 856 6115 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
