Lydia Butt is marking her 10th birthday today by having around 10 inches of hair cut to donate to The Little Princess Trust. This charity makes wigs for girls who've lost their hair because of chemotherapy or other medical reasons.
Terence Paul in Didsbury Village are generously doing the deed and a styling a new short cut today at 4pm.
Each wig costs £300 to make, so Lydia hopes to raise at least this amount to go with her donation of hair. Yesterday she sold 'chemo-cakes' in the playground at Didsbury CofE school - bald fairy cakes with wigs (strawberry laces) as an extra to buy with each cake. She made a whopping £81!
