Join the Magical DAF Lantern Parade 2015
Published Monday 23rd November 2015
November just wouldn’t be the same without the spectacular Lantern Parade, brought to you by Didsbury Arts Festival!
With a record 1000 participants attending last year’s Parade, this enchanting family event is now an official highlight of the annual community calendar. So, wrap up warmly and join us for a 6pm start on Saturday 28 November at the Alpine Tea Room in Fletcher Moss Park.
Enjoy a magical, moonlit walk through Fletcher Moss – an enchanted trail, leading to extraordinary, illuminated delights under wintry skies. The evening will feature fantastic fire and light shows from Manchester’s Traveling Light Circus and contributions from local artists and musicians! Bring lanterns, bring family, bring friends and come in sensible footwear! A £2 donation per adult on the gate will help raise funds for DAF.
Need help getting creative? Why not join our special lantern building workshop taking place at the Northern Tennis Club, Palatine Road, on Sunday 22 November. There will be two sessions, 10 am – 12.30 pm and 1.30 pm – 4 pm. All welcome (£10 per person), and all materials will be provided! Visit the DAF website for details. Workshops will also be held in local primary schools in the run-up to the Lantern Parade.
Said DAF Festival Director, Daniel Williamson: ‘The DAF Lantern Parade is a truly magical event which brings the whole community together and which is getting more popular year by year. We look forward to this year’s Parade and hope that it will be more successful than ever.’
