Oxfam Didsbury April Appeal For Stock

Oxfam Didsbury's shop manager Wendy Elliott

Spring is officially sprung and after a long, cold winter it’s time to sweep away the cobwebs and have a seasonal clear out.

But before you bin the clutter that has collected over the last 12 months – think again! Bring your unwanted goods to Oxfam in Didsbury and you’ll help put a Spring in our Step!

Donations of clothes, books, bric-a-brac and jewellery are desperately needed to re-fill empty shelves and boost sales at the charity shop on Wilmslow Road.

Successful sales post-Christmas have left the shop in need of good-quality stock, whilst other factors, including poor weather and the current economic downturn, have resulted in a fall in donations.

‘Times are tough and people are short of pennies, but we can turn their unwanted clothes and household items into much-needed cash,’ explained Wendy Elliott, manager at Didsbury Oxfam.

‘We rely entirely on donations and one morning’s work clearing out the wardrobe or the loft could unearth a treasure trove for Oxfam. We need good-quality clothes, books, bric-a-brac and jewellery. Shoes, bags, accessories and home ware items will also be most welcome.’

Added Wendy: ‘I’d like to thank people for their generosity and hope that they will continue to support us. Your precious donations will make a massive difference to Oxfam in raising as much money as possible for our work fighting poverty around the world.’ For more details, or to make donations, visit the shop or call: 0161 434 5380
