Robbers targeted a Withington cafe as it was opening up.
At about 10.45am on Monday 25 July 2011, two men kicked at the door of the Fuel cafe-bar on Wilmslow Road, despite the fact that it was closed and the shutters were only half-lifted.
They stole cash after threatening members of staff. They also helped themselves to one employee's Iphone which was on the bar.
The pair are both white men. One of them was in his late 20s, of medium build and about 5ft 9in tall. He was wearing a black scarf to cover his face, as well as dark clothing. He was also carrying a black rucksack.
His accomplice was in his mid 20s, of medium build and about 6ft 2in tall. He had short but slightly curly brown hair and bright coloured eyes. He was wearing a black, shiny PVC coat, dark jeans and dark trainers. He also covered his face with a scarf.
Detective Constable Chris Fox said: "This was clearly a very distressing experience for the members of staff though I would stress that incidents of this nature are rare in Withington.
"This is a busy shopping street so I am confident that there are witnesses out there who we need to hear from."
