A man barricaded himself into his bedroom after men broke into his house in Didsbury.
The incident happened sometime around 1am on Tuesday 5 June, when two men in balaclavas broke into a house on Old Oak Street in Didsbury.
Upon hearing the noise downstairs, the 41-year-old man barricaded himself into his bedroom.
One of the offenders tried to force his way into the room, but the men then left the address and sped off in a dark coloured sporty looking car along Wilmslow Road towards the A34 Kingsway.
Nothing was stolen during the break-in and no-one was injured.
One of the men is white and described as around 6ft tall, with blue or grey eyes and dark eyebrows. He spoke with a strong Liverpool accent.
Detective Constable David Bigger from West Didsbury CID said: “This man was left terrified after two offenders broke into his house in the middle of the night.
“Thankfully, no-one was injured and they left without taking anything. We are determined to identify these individuals and are asking for anyone who may have seen these men before the break-in, or who may have seen the car speeding off afterwards, to get in touch with us.
“Your information could be vital to our investigation so please call us if you saw, heard or know anything.”
