Didsbury based video production company, Standby Productions Ltd may only be in their second year of business but they’re already making waves in the TV world. A big coup for the young company came when they were recently approached by Contrast Creative in West Didsbury and Manchester based beauty business BeautyBay.com to create a young, vibrant and striking advert to be shown on national TV.
Since starting in April 2011, Standby Productions have worked with a number of Northwest based clients and initiatives, from large brands such as Littlewoods and Mamas and Papas, to local initiatives such as Didsbury Arts Festival and CavFest. It is this breadth of experience in such a young business which has developed quick successes and a strong and growing company.
Simon Owen, 29, owner of Standby Productions says “We often collaborate with Advertising and Marketing agencies, so when we were approached by Ed Stemp at Contrast Creative to work on a high end beauty advert, for Beautybay.com, we were really excited. Their decision was based on our strong showreel which features a lot of beauty and fashion edits but also our creative ideas and the service we offer. We jumped at the chance to work with such an exciting brand in the market where we were able to express our creativity in real beauty."
Claire Kerry from brand Beautybay.com says "Standby was very inventive with ideas and has a real eye for capturing visually creative shots. They really took our ideas and visions on board presenting them back in a way that would work whilst keeping the integrity of the initial idea." Being based in Manchester means that the production company are easily able to travel around the country to clients for filming and consultations. They look set to grow rapidly as their reputation and portfolio continues to expand and cover wider ranges of client sectors and brand names.
