Hello everyone, Thanks again to everyone who helped with the Open Gardens event and for all of the effort and support that went into making the day such a success. We can now confirm that the afternoon raised over £8500 for charities which is a fantastic result, and over 950 programmes were sold. Circa £5700 was collected for the main charities, Alzheimer's Society and The Parsonage Trust and St Ann's Hospice. In addition the following charities benefited from money raised on the day from sales of teas and cakes, pottery, jam, plants, etc and raffle tickets for the owl by Andy Burgess. All of which bring the total to over £8500. Libraries for India - circa £600 Barnardos - circa £200 Breakthrough Breast Cancer Care - circa £300 Alzheimer's Society - circa £250 After Adoption - circa £360 The Christie - circa £250 Didsbury Arts Festival (owl raffle) - circa £400 St James & Emmanuel Church - circa £550 So again a big thank you to all the garden hosts and volunteers, for helping to raise such a lot of money for the above good causes.
