Heartbreak Productions Return to Fletcher Moss Park
Heartbreak Productions Return to Fletcher Moss Par
British weather always makes open air theatre a risky business, but Heartbreak Productions has never failed to provide a unique experience to their audiences. This year is no different, and Heartbreak is on its way to Didsbury with its 2018 season.
The Midnight Gang by David Walliams
June 29th - July 1st
When everyone else is sweetly sleeping, they gather in the middle of the night in the name of magic, mischief, and memory making. Join Heartbreak and the gang on this crucial mission to overcome our greatest fears and uncover the magic ingredient to a fantastic friendship.
Much Ado About Nothing by William Shakespeare
Set in post-war Britain at a garden party in aid of the Red Cross, this is a playful adaptation of one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies. For Hero and Claudio it’s love at first sight, while Benedick and Beatrice carry on a charade of witty insults that hides their true feelings. Hearts will be won and lost and won again as war makes way for masked balls, gossip, deception, and true love.
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
One of Britain’s best loved romances re-told Heartbreak style. Please join us, the Bennet sisters, and a host of charming young bachelors (yes, Mr Darcy will be there. No really, yes, that Mr Darcy) for an evening of comedy, romance, and more than one come-uppance.
The Railway Children by Edith Nesbit
August 17th – 19th
Living by the railway line, the children spend quite a bit of time watching the trains and making some unexpected friendships. There is the old gentleman who regularly takes the 9.15 train and helps them solve the mystery of what happened to their father, and the Russian immigrant who teaches them that compassion and understanding cross all boundaries.
All shows on the dates above will be performed out of doors at Fletcher Moss Botanical Gardens in Didsbury, M20 2SW. Tickets can be purchased via the Heartbreak Productions website and range from £11 - £19. Family tickets are available. Seating is only provided with premium tickets (so bring a blanket or a chair if you purchase a standard ticket). Picnics are encouraged. Brollys are recommended.
Heartbreak Productions has been taking outdoor theatre across the UK for 27 years providing classic tales with a twist, family shows that engage the whole audience, and Shakespeare that speaks to those with a love of the Bard as well as the uninitiated and the unconvinced. A Heartbreak show truly is a unique outdoor theatre experience.
“The wonder with Heartbreak is how they do so much with so little. Just five actors in this show played 20 parts. The company’s whole summer tour will take in nearly 90 venues and hundreds of shows, and they have four plays to offer. If this performance is anything to go by, they’re in for one of their most successful seasons yet. The acting, direction and script were all pin sharp, and the cast received a full-throated standing ovation from the enraptured audience.” – Nick LeMesurier The Leamington Courier
