Swingin' Affair the Didsbury based big band / concert band well know for supporting local charity events such as the Didsbury Beer Festival is playing again this weekend at Didsbury Baptist Church. Swingin' Affair has been playing together for over 30 years and practices weekly at St.Catherine's Social Club.
Didsbury Baptist Church located on the corner of School Lane and Beaver Road will host its last concert before the long awaited redevelopment of the building to bring it up to modern standards and equip it for the congregation and local community organisations to continue to enjoy for the next hundred years. Didsbury Baptist Church has played host to an increasing amount of concerts over recent time, none more so than during the increasingly popular Didsbury Arts Festival - with soft lighting and great acoustics it is becoming a popular choice for local groups and artists.
The band will be playing a varied programme of music ranging from songs from the musicals and films to well know popular music along with some self commissioned pieces. Starting at 7.30pm on Saturday 7th May tickets are priced £6 and £4 concessions and will be available on the door. All money raised will be spilt between Francis House and the churches building fund. A guest appearance s also expected from George Gallway who is very generously giving up some of his time to support this valuable cause.
